Creating business cards doesn’t have to be complicated. With the right tools—in this case, Canva templates—anyone on your team can design polished, professional business cards in minutes.

How to Easily Create Business Cards in Canva

With this step-by-step Canva guide, you’ll learn how to easily create ready-to-print business cards that look great, capture attention, and adhere to your brand guidelines.

Step 1: Set Up Your Canva Template

Start by logging into your Canva account.

If you don’t have one, it’s easy to sign up at Canva.com

Once you’re in, click the “Create a design” button on the left-hand side and search for "business card" templates.

The standard business card size is 3.5 x 2 inches. You can filter for that size in your search results.

Step 2: Create Your Business Card Design

Now that you have your template—whether pre-designed or blank—it’s time to customize it to fit your brand.

Here’s how to build a design from a blank template:

Set Your Background: Choose a background color that matches your brand’s palette. Canva has an extensive color picker tool that allows you to select your exact brand colors by HEX or RGB codes.

Add Your Logo: Upload your logo via the "Uploads" tab and place it prominently on the card. Make sure it’s sized appropriately and maintains a balance with the rest of the card.

Incorporate Text:  Click on the "Text" tab and select "Add a text box" to include details like your name, title, email address, and phone number.

Stick to brand-approved fonts and sizes for a consistent look.

Arrange Layout: Turn on Canva’s grid and alignment tools by selecting “Position” from the menu. This will help you align logos and text neatly.

Add Finishing Touches: Enhance your design with small graphic elements like borders, icons, or patterns. Find these under the "Elements" tab. Just be careful not to overcrowd the card. Less is often more when it comes to business cards.

A tip: Leave the back of the business card blank for note-taking purposes.

Step 3: Save and Share the Template

Once you’re happy with the design, save the template in Canva for future use.

Whenever a new team member joins and needs business cards, you can simply share the link to the template. They can quickly fill in their details. No need to start from scratch each time.

Step 4: Get Your Business Cards Printed

Once your business card design is finalized, it’s time to print.

Select “Share” in the top-right corner and then click  “Download”.

Select "PDF – Print" for the highest quality file.

Now, you’re ready to upload it to your preferred printing service. Here’s how to do it:

Choose a printing service: Popular online options include Vistaprint, Staples, or you can order directly from Canva. Whichever vendor you choose, visit their business card section and upload your design to print.

Select your card specifications: Choose the standard 3.5 x 2-inch size and any additional options (like matte or glossy finishes). Review your design in the preview tool to make sure everything looks correct.

Order your cards: Once everything looks good, place your order!

With this simple process, you can maintain a consistent brand image across your team and get business cards created efficiently. As always, we’re here to help if you need more customized designs.
