Top 10 Marketing Hashtags to Follow

Are you looking to grow your social media presence, but don’t know where to begin?

Let's start with hashtags - a simple, yet effective social media marketing tactic. Hashtags are used to categorize content and allow for greater visibility. Hashtags always begin with # and do not include punctuation, special characters, or spaces in between keywords. When used effectively, hashtags enable you to reach your target audience, increase engagement, and gain followers within your niche.

While any word or phrase can be used as a hashtag, it’s important to choose relevant hashtags that connect back to the product or service that you offer. When searching for appropriate hashtags, look for trends in your niche, study your competitors, or use online tools like Rite Tag.

Here is a list of top 10 marketing hashtags you should be leveraging:

Staying up to date with the latest hashtag and topics is a great way to sustain social media growth. Not only is this a great way to stay updated, but it gives you an opportunity to engage with similar content. Many social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok make this simple by allowing you to view all posts (including photos and video) with a hashtag by clicking on the highlighted hashtag. For LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter specifically, click a hashtag and tap the follow button on the top of the screen to ensure all posts with the hashtag appear in your feed.

Now that you’ve gained some general knowledge on the topic of hashtags, let’s discuss a few quick tips that will get you ready to hit the ground running. Avoid stringing too many words together, and don’t overdo it with the hashtags. Generally, I suggest 1- 2 hashtags for Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn and 10 hashtags for Instagram. And if you want to be found by users searching by hashtags, remember to make your account public.
